Nationally Touring Comedians

Mike Diesel
9:30pm

Mike Diesel began doing stand-up comedy in 1988 in Washington DC at various “open-mics” around town. He was just doing silly impressions back then, but it was enough to get him noticed by the owner of The Comedy Café in downtown Washington DC and Mike was asked to be a regular host/MC. This was the beginning of what has now gone on to become a storied career.

Mike has become a fantastic comic, tapping into stories of his youth as well as going after current day subject matter with a vengeance. Mike is am accomplished commercial actor, a voiceover specialist, and he has been booking the talent for a very successful comedy club called Wiseacres Comedy Club for the last eight years. Now completely comfortable with who he is, he has established a great life for himself with the help of his wife Patience, who is a constant source of strength and tolerance. Mike has also taught classes in stand-up comedy for a very minimal price. “We don’t teach them how to write or perform stand-up, we teach the business of comedy.”

Mike Diesel has appeared in five local commercials, HBO’s “The Wire” and has had roles in two independent films. One of them, “Despiser” (Eaglefilms.Com) can be found at Blockbuster Video. Film critic Joe Bob Briggs commented about Mike ““best fat guy comic relief in a 'B' scifi movie.”

Jason Benci

Jason Benci
9:00pm

The Maverick Jason J. Benci brings the dark side of the straight edge to stand up comedy. Through the use and abuse of his hard Knox life, this poster child of new school stand up unloads his day-to-day observational humor involving life, family, and friends unto the audience. Brought up by two Detroit police officers, bull riding in three different rodeo circuits before the age of eighteen, and living the rock star lifestyle playing drums in a punk band give Jason more than enough attitude and ammunition to keep the crowd in stitches.
