Wix Wichmann
9:30pm

Coming from a long line of attorneys and circuit court judges‚ there’s no doubt that Wix Wichmann is different from the rest of his family. But as a standup comedian‚ Wichmann hopes to affect people’s lives just as much as his relatives. “You can be funny and walk away‚ but I think ultimately you want to influence people’s perspectives‚” he said. “If I can influence somebody not to be so judgmental‚ that would be the ultimate goal.”

Wichmann got his start in comedy at Chicago’s Red Lion club in 1999 while still working as the regional promotion manager for one of Sony Music Nashville’s hottest acts‚ the Dixie Chicks. When the company downsized in 2001‚ leaving Wichmann without a job‚ he got his biggest break yet.

Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, of country music’s Montgomery Gentry, asked Wichmann to act as a liason for their sponsorship deal with Jim Beam bourbon ‚ and more importantly ‚ to warm up their concert audiences with a few minutes of comedy. Wichmann’s experience in front of thousands of Montgomery Gentry fans earned him an opening spot on USA Network’s Nashville Star and later a regional finalist position in NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Wichmann’s first CD and DVD package ‚ I’ll Quit When Willie Quits ‚ was recorded last November at Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville.

Dave Waite
9:00pm

Dave Waites oddball stories and rants have made him a favorite at clubs throughout the Midwest. A self-proclaimed square peg who found happiness when he stopped trying to fit in‚ Waite’s tales of personal failure have won the love of audiences young and old a like.

After graduating from Northern Kentucky University with a degree in geography‚ Waite drifted through a series of jobs ranging from call center representative to substitute teacher‚ experiences that later became part of his act. When he had nearly hit rock bottom‚ Waite found his true calling in early 2004 when he took a standup comedy class at the Funny Bone in Newport‚ Ky. Waite fell in love with standup and quickly gained a reputation as one of the Midwest’s wittiest and most unpredictable young comics.
