About the Show
The Grammy-winning trio Nickel Creek is an eclectic band that can play in and across every genre without missing a note. The group’s three members (mandolinist Chis Thile, guitarist Sean Watkins and violinist Sara Watkins) are true virtuosos. Their music is amassing a fan base that includes those who love the music of Alison Krauss, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt, the Dixie Chicks, Cold Play, Radiohead, David Grey, and Bob Dylan – just to name a few. Their latest album, “Why Should the Fire Die?” was produced by Smash Mouth producer Eric Valentine. “Using bluegrass instruments and a certain amount of bluegrass technique, [Nickel Creek] makes music with a songcraft and emotional frequencies of alternative rock,” describes The New York Times.
