Usher/Ticket Taker work a concert in the Mountainlair Ballrooms
Job Location: Varies by event
Availability: Usher/Ticket Takers must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Job Function: This position provides patron services and assistance during WVU events (concerts, performing arts events, etc.), specifically determining that all patrons entering the performance facility have a valid and legal ticket for entrance and helping patrons to locate their proper seats.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • WVU full-time student status

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Present a positive and professional image as a WVU Arts & Entertainment representative.
  • Greet patrons as they are entering the venue.
  • Check the validity of the patrons' tickets as they enter the performance facility.
  • Help patrons to locate their proper seats.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts relating to seating that may arise during a performance.
  • Enforce facility policies
  • Advise patrons as to location of facility amenities and services.
  • Implement emergency procedures as the need arises.
  • Assist with the cleanup of the venue following the event.
  • Adhere to event dress code.
  • Attend staff training and staff meetings.
  • Work scheduled shift as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

WVU student status and a 2.0 GPA are required for employees.
Significant time availability is required for positions.
