The head cook in a fancy Hamburg restaurant, Martha (Martina Gedeck), uses food as her primary means of communication. But after her sister dies in an accident, Martha must begin to care for her eight-year-old niece, Lina (Maxime Foerste), a girl who proves as resolute and socially maladroit as her aunt. And, when a charming, fun-loving Italian chef (Sergio Castellitto) invades Martha's restaurant, romance is thrown into the stew. In German with English subtitles.
