Vietnam veteran John Rambo has survived many harrowing ordeals and has since withdrawn into a simple and secluded existence in Bangkok. He is called back into duty when a group of Christian human rights missionaries are taken prisoner and he must assemble a team of mercenaries to rescue the surviving relief workers.
