About the Show
Pat Metheny’s work is instantly recognizable. His 17 Grammy awards are spread over a variety of different categories, including Best Rock Instrumental, Best Contemporary Jazz Recording, Best Jazz Instrumental Solo and Best Instrumental Composition. Metheny won an unprecedented seven consecutive Grammys for seven consecutive albums with The Pat Metheny Group, and he has three gold records to his credit—(Still Life) Talking, Letter From Home and Secret Story. Always at the forefront of introducing new creative tools to aid his expansive approach to music, he will, for the first time, perform all original compositions entirely alone—an ensemble presentation with no other musicians onstage. Metheny has created a new Orchestrion, an ensemble of mechanical instruments controlled entirely from his guitar and pen. This concert will utilize new types of instruments that integrate conventional acoustic sound and robotic technology. This will be a performance unlike any other.
