Vicki Lawrence & Mama

A Two Woman Show
Feb 28 • 7:30pm
WVU Creative Arts Center

Emmy Award-winner Vicki Lawrence is one of the most beloved television personalities of her generation. The multi-talented actress, comedian and singer is known for the many characters she originated on CBS’ “The Carol Burnett Show,” where she appeared from 1967 to 1978 – the entire series run. Her most famous character, Thelma Harper, aka Mama, became the central character of the ever-popular television series “Mama’s Family.” Now Lawrence is bringing her Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show to the Creative Arts Center stage. The show features a mixture of stand-up comedy, music and Lawrence’s observations about real life. “I think people will get a kick out of the things Mama has an opinion about,” says Lawrence. The audience should also expect to see a side of Vicki they may have never seen before. Lawrence promises that for those looking forward to Mama “that crazy old gal will be up to the challenge.”
