When the, now iconic band, Alabama took the stage in 1985, it was the country powerhouse's third show at the WVU Coliseum in as many years. Their "40 Hour Week" album had been release that January and it yielded three No. 1 hits: the title track, "There's No Way" and "Can't Keep a Good Man Down."

Alabama was joined by The Charlie Daniels Band and The Judds. The Judds won their second Grammy Award in 1985 for Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for "Why Not Me."

The concert drew 12,600 fans on Homecoming weekend.
