When Tim Bergling, aka Avicii, took the stage at the WVU Coliseum in 2012, he was one of the hottest names in Electronic Dance Music (EDM). The self-taught Swedish DJ became an international superstar as a result of his era-defining hits like the multi-platinum anthem "Levels," which proved to be his breakout hit.

EDM is a compilation of electronic music subgenres, including disco music, synthpop, techo, house music, trance music, drum and bass, dubstep, trap, hardstyle and more. The 2012 concert included an impressive barrage of lights and haze that is the hallmark of an EDM performance and it was met with enthusiasm by the neon-clad fans in attendance.

The "Daily Athenaeum's" Patrick Gorrell called the concert a "seminal moment for the city's music scene."
