Creative Arts Center Venue Information
LOADING DOCK
The loading dock is at stage level. The loading dock is capable of loading/unloading
two 53' trucks at the same time. The height of the loading dock is 41" off the
ground. All road cases and equipment must be rolled through doorways which are
118" high by 94" wide. The distance from the loading dock to the stage is approximately
200 feet. Parking adjacent to the loading dock is limited; please advise of the
number and size of vehicles during the advance. No shore power is available.

AVAILABLE POWER
All company disconnects are located downstage left. There are two (2) 400 Amp 3
phase services and one (1) 100 Amp 3 phase service available. These services
are separate from the in-house lighting circuits. Tie-in is done by the Theater
Technician and must be checked by tour electrician to ensure accuracy.

RIGGING INFORMATION
The rigging system is a double purchase system with a live load limit of one thousand nine hundred (1900) pounds per batten. The electrics bridges (winch control) have a live load limit of one thousand seven hundred (1700) pounds each.

House Mixing Position
The house mixing position for the road company is located in the rear of the
house, centered in rows FF and GG. The dimension of this area is 18 feet wide
and 7 feet deep.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Inventory:
The communications system is Clear Com brand and features:
• Single- and double-muff headsets
• Remote station belt-packs
Usage:
The main power amps, switchboard and matrix patches are located stage left in
the Concert Theatre. At the present time, the system operates only within the
Concert Theatre; therefore, there is no communication capability with the dressing
rooms via this system.
LIFT/ORCHESTRA PIT
The Concert Theatre is equipped with a hydraulic lift. Use is limited and it is operable only by the Theatre Technician, for safety reasons. Please consult during the advance regarding the needs of the lift.
Uses:
The stage is equipped with a hydraulic lift which can serve as:
• Stage apron(0'0")
• Seat wagon(For additional seating
rows: A, B, C)
• Orchestra pit (-7'4")
• Elevator to/from trap room Elevator
to/ from basement
Capacity:
The capacity of the lift is 100 lbs./ft. squared.
Control Position:
There are two control positions for the lift and are located:
• Stage Left on the mechanical console
• Stage Left floor pocket on lift
Access:
Doors to the lift from the trap room are 10'-0"w X 9'-5"h. The removable shelf
at the orchestra pit level must be removed for total clearance. Clearance with
the shelf in place is 8'-0"h. The shelf will be removed only after special consideration.
STAGEHANDS
The presenter utilizes a mixture of IATSE Local #578 and student stagehands for performances presented in the Creative Arts Center Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre. The union stagehands are used as skilled labor in specific areas whereas student stagehands fill unskilled positions.
DRESSING ROOMS
Please be aware that the Creative Arts Center serves primarily as an educational facility. Therefore, dressing rooms - or the number that the road company requires - may not be available for use. The presenter will make every attempt to accommodate the needs of the road company.
There are two large chorus rooms and five small rooms. These rooms are located backstage, one floor above stage level. Paging speakers are located outside each room in the hallways. In addition, on stage level directly behind the stage, there is a conference room which is typically used as a production office for road companies. Phones and network access can be available in this room at the request of the road company.
All dressing rooms are equipped with lighted mirrors, chairs and counter space. Restroom facilities, with showers, are connected to the chorus rooms and small rooms. Both incandescent and fluorescent lighting are available in the dressing rooms. With advance notice, the presenter will provide irons and ironing board. There is one washing machine and one dryer available in the dressing room hallway. Sewing machines are not available. A freight elevator is available for the transportation of costume road cases to the dressing room level. The dimensions of the elevator door is 66" w X 103" h and inside the elevator, the dimensions are 119" d X 93" w X 103" h.

COSTUME SHOP
Please be aware that the Creative Arts Center has no costume shop facilities available for use by road companies. Production should be totally self-contained in regard to costumes, including rolling racks.
